Paxton Building Group is a private family owned Australian building company with extensive construction experience
and knowledge. Our firm started life as a family business, Gavan & Shallala Homes, in the late 1940s and grew to
become Australia’s largest home builder by the late 1960s, emerging as the first company nationally to build brick
veneer homes commercially.
Director Tony Gavan is a registered building practitioner, licenced in Sydney, Melbourne and Queensland with 40 years
construction experience and is hands on with all projects. Our team has more than 10 years’ experience servicing the
Insurance Repair sector and providing professional service to customers impacted by major weather events as well as
business as usual insurance repairs.
Paxton Building Group is eager to build strong relationships with Insurance Companies, Assessors and other
professional organisations to help them deliver exceptional service to their residential and commercial customers.
Whether they are insurance clients impacted by major weather events or providing our expertise to construct high-
rise residential buildings or commercial premises or undertaking strip-outs and fit-outs. With our head office located
in Sydney and offices in Melbourne and Qld, we are well positioned to support our main geographical areas. However,
during major weather events we will travel to provide our services and establish a local presence.

If you choose to do business with Paxton Building Group, this is the process we will follow, our Administration team
will receive any new leads or quote requests, they will contact the customer within 1 hour to acknowledge the enquiry.
Working with the Supervisor, an appointment will be scheduled at the customers earliest convenience. We aim to
have an appointment booked with 24 hours of receiving the enquiry. The Supervisor will attend the location and
complete an electronic site report and submit this to our Estimating team with supporting documents and images.
As this process is electronic no time is wasted before the Estimator is able to prepare the quote. A very important
part of our process is for the Estimator to liaise with our Project Manager for capacity approval, based on the size of
the scope and the estimated timeline we check we have the resources available before submitting the quote.
Once the quote is accepted, we will issue the contracts the same day, once we receive a signed contract back, the
project will be scheduled and milestones agreed. Our Supervisors are in constant contact with our customers both on
and off site. Our customers also receive progress reports on completion of each milestone. Once the project is
complete, the completion certificate and report are issued.
Our customers are asked to complete a satisfaction survey and the team will review this with internal reports that
enable us to analyse the success of the project and any opportunities to continuously improve our business or process.
We believe that every business needs comprehensive reporting to manage projects and analyse performance. We are
proud to be fully electronic with detailed reporting and dashboards available. Our secure cloud-based software
supports our team with access to necessary reports and also benefit from access to real time information.
